Very cool pics. I have many photos of these ranges taken from 6 or 7 miles up, but I've never been on the ground in that part of the world.

From 6 miles up, the mountains don't look so large. I have seen them from the air riding in the back of the plane with the rest of the cattle. From the valley floor, the Sawatch Range mountains look huge. They are big bulky mountains that are not as rugged as say the Sangre de Cristo Range to the south, but it is a long walk to the Sawatch summits. The Arkansas River Valley is a great place to visit if you ever get the chance. There are unlimited opportunities for hiking, biking, four wheeling, and kayaking or just drinking beer in Bensons in Salida. Keep the shiny side up whitenoise.

Thanks gledwood. My home base is currently in Michigan near Detroit. I hope to relocate to Colorado if I can ever sell my house. I prefer great mountains to Great Lakes not that Great Lakes are all that bad.
